My first Blog had to have feeling.
What better way than to start off with the most beautiful experience I had with the children at Sylvanvale.
Sylvanvale is a school for Children who primarily have an intellectual disability.
On arrival I was welcomed with green and gold streamers with communication devices to say “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi”, the precious part were the words on a card they gave me “Remember we are only a hop, skip and a jump away”. This hangs on our fridge at home to remind me, Some things in life are a struggle, every ones’ struggles in life are different. Maybe life is good to me, and giving back is the easiest and most rewarding thing to do.
Have you ever met anybody in life whose whole being is to make sure others are ok?
That would have to be the amazing workers at this centre. I have always believed you have to be a special type of person to take care of a child with a disability. My opinion hasn’t changed, there is so many different ways to help many children and their families.

To me the most memorable moments in life are when we are giving. I turned up to meet the children hoping that one little gesture I did for them could make a difference in their lives, make it a little better.
I left there with their little gestures putting the biggest smile on my face, their reactions were priceless.
YES, the little things in life count!
At 16 years, life for me is about several things. Sport, nutrition, beauty, clothing you name it, I am just like every other 16 year old. Although something has just been added to list now, going the extra mile for someone else…
So stay posted, take care and stay strong!
