Fun in the SUN walk for Sylvanvale

An early 9am start on a beautiful Saturday morning brought a few of the Shires local talented athletes together to support the excellent organisation of Sylvanvale – a recognised initiative for young disabled children.

Tay – Leiha gathered a few of her fellow athletes including Ella Nelson, a recent Australian Representative at the Commonwealth Games, Cameron Pappas a current NSWIS scholarship holder and Laura Turner, an Australian Representative in relays. The four teamed up to raise funds and awareness for this incredible local campaign, supporting all disabled children Sydney/region-wide.

The event was more than a success with local networks and supporting groups raising more than $14,907. This included an additional amount donated by Westpac, who matched the funds, bringing the total to $30,000 – a target well reached above mark.

Tay – leiha will continue close work with Sylvandale in the early new year and hopes to spread the support of the initiative through local school, groups and organisations.
